Complex Danyang Mahjong

As with the previously described simple game, there are wild tiles.

Two dice are used for deciding which wall to break, and it is the total score of the two dice that is used to decide how many from the right to make the break.

Again, you just need to go out as quickly as possible. No 'chis' are allowed (only pons and kungs). And you must pick the winning tile yourself. A win gets you one bean from everyone (one bean being about 4p, when divied up at the end). Again, you get an extra bean for every kung, and for the pon of the wild tile indicator. Once when I played this version, we had four season tiles included in the set. These were used the same as the dragons, with the seasons coming after 'white' for showing the wild tile. Another time we played without it.

  1. A hidden kung is worth double a revealed Kung in bonus money.
  2. A variation of the simple game that I saw, was that everybody paid a Kung displayer their bonus money immediately after they'd got a kung - whether they won or not. I don't like this variation personally.
Again, a nice social, easy game, and a bit more challenging than just the 'simple' game.
